Yes, perhaps some would consider them cliche, touristy, or elite… but the Washington DC cherry blossoms belong among DC wonders. If for no better reason, because it allows for photos like this.

For those of us in the Capitol Hill area, this is probably my favorite bar near home. I can now say I have come here to work. The couches are comfy even after 3 hours. And the music… only the best!

Cool thrift store

For really really cheap but great clothes, check out Frugalista in Mount Pleasant. I don’t think they have a webside, but they’re at Mt. Pleasant St and Irving. I bought 4 skirts for a total of $30 there one time, about to go back for a nice coat, they had a great selection of those too.

Ching Ching Cha – a great little Chinese-run “house of tea” in Georgetown. I’d personally consider Georgetown to be lower on my list of places to regularly visit in Washington, but this place is definitely worth putting up with the ritzy, uppity shoppers, at least once in a while.

You can sit on the ground and eat if you take your shoes off. Just like at my place!
